The .22 rimfire handgun will never look the same. The P22 changed everything. Walther adapted the tactical styling and Performance Design concepts from our centerfire handguns and applied them to the .22 L.R. This created a new movement in the design of contemporary rimfire handguns … and an explosion of imitators. As a stylish, fun gun to own, the P22 is at home on the shooting range, around the camp or in a museum of modern art.
So I have put around 2000 rounds through my P22 and I have found with the right ammo it is a great little gun. I have what I would call normal 510 hands. Im an average build 510 guy and the grip and gun fit really well. My wife, slightly smaller hands loves it also. If you have really large hands well you will have to judge for yourself.
It likes federal and CCI ammo, CCI stinger ammo is a blast to shoot out of it. It hates Winchester ammo!! not sure why but that ammo either doesn't fire well, jams or wont extract and stove pipes.
Accuracy is decent. I can get good 3 groups at 10 yards and it took an added on lower laser well.
Cleaning isn't too bad and it does like to be oiled well. Make sure cleaning you get the ejector well and the whole upper slide clean and lubed. With CCI stinger ammo I would have no issue carrying this as a CC as it has never misfired with that ammo. When the gun is clean the federal shoots really well. About 250 rounds in it started to have some initial round not feeding well. I also noticed with the crap Winchester X ammo if you put 8 rounds in instead of 10 it seemed to be better but still not great.
I just put 600 rounds through without cleaning to see how bad it would get and tried a bunch of different ammo. CCI regular velocity was starting to not feed and the last 10 rounds I ran through it were CCI stingers and they had no issues, not sure if that was a fluke or not as I didn't have anymore to shoot..
Oh one last thing, I really really really like the magazine release. So much I am going to buy the PK380 next.
