In response to consumer demand, Taurus steps boldly into the full-frame striker-fired segment with the all-new G3 semi-auto 9mm pistol.
The G3 starts with a full-size polymer frame that incorporates several features intended to enhance comfort and utility. Most prominent are the aggressively stippled grip patches strategically placed along the front strap, side panels, and back strap. These patches provide a no-slip purchase in the critical areas beneath the shooter's palm and fingers yet are not so dominant as to be uncomfortable during extended range or competition sessions.
Also aiding in grip and optimal hand alignment is an ergonomically crafted palm swell with smooth contouring located high on the backstrap. This design effortlessly places the strong hand high and tight on the frame, eliminating gapping between the top of the shooter's hand and the back of the frame and promoting straight wrist alignment for more natural muzzle control.
Further assisting in comfortable, repeatable grip and hand alignment are thumb shelves on either side of the grip. The shelves help the shooter achieve a solid lock and fast grip orientation. They also place the index finger in position for a straight pull on the trigger.
The G3's ergonomics do not stop at the polymer frame. Smooth contouring along the slide blends with a slightly tapered slide profile to minimize bulk and to deliver comfortable operation when actuating the slide. To ensure a no-slip grip when chambering a cartridge or opening the slide for inspection, the G3 features generous front and rear machined serrations. For smooth holstering and to minimize clothing snags, the G3 has uniform beveling along the front of the slide and frame, and a steep contoured bevel along the back of the slide.
As a striker-fired pistol, the G3 utilizes a single-action firing system once a cartridge is chambered. What sets the G3 apart from competing models is its second-strike capability. In the event of a failure-to-fire condition, the shooter can reset and pull the trigger again to restrike the primer.
Recently decided to purchase my first firearm for home defense. Decided to get this after reading other input and discussing with friends who have previous Taurus G2. Sportsmans Outdoors was easy to work with in ordering and receiving to FFL. The firearm itself is a good fit for me. Been to the range with it and was easy to use and trouble free. The only thing I was not excited about was loading the magazine was a bit challenging on the spring load vs another training brand/model I had used. Overall very happy with this purpose and years of training ahead with it
Must say i'm very impressed by the power of this thing. Went to the range and fired 100 rounds with no issues at all. I would absolutely recommend this gun and even buy another one in a different color. Can't beat the price.
A Perfect New Firearm of Taurus.
Shot over a 100 rounds with my Taurus g3 gun jammed 4 or 5 times. Not very happy may be sending it back and buy a glock
Love the look and feel of the gun, the finger placements pads on it make it really natural to hold. Smooth action when firing the 100 rounds Ive put through it so far. Great gun, not just for the price but in general.
I have owned a Taurus PT111 Millennium G2 for about 5 years and LOVE IT. So when I saw the G3 I HAD to give it a try. I must say. I'm Impressed. It feels Great in the hand and the 17 round mag with the extender feels super comfortable. The G3 points, aims and shoots Very Accurately. Trigger feels good also. I cleaned it and lubed it good before shooting. No problem or issues at all. The G3 functioned like it should. Without any problems. I have already reccommended it to several of my friends that are looking for a Good 9mm pistol. Best Under $300 pistol out there. Great Shooter.
Waited to find one in stock took forever to find. Finally got an email and ordered mine. All the reviews were true it is a very reliable great shooting gun. Very happy with my purchase and thank you Sportsman Outdoor Superstore shipped quickly and no problems.
Bought the G3 about 6 months ago. I have put about 500 rounds in it with out any issues. Easy to use, handle and take down. Would recommend for a cheap reliable hand gun.
I started with the PT111, fell in love, then the G2C. I love both of them, now the G3 is out. I bought one as soon as it came out, another great gun. If you are looking for a goat, yes I said Goat, because it will eat any ammo you feed it no problem. Love the 9mm nothing will ever change my mind .
I have 2 G2C, a black and ODG and enjoy both! When I saw that the G3 was in the making I preordered it without hesitation and I was not disappointed with the gun nor did I regret my purchase. Taurus struck again! I got it as soon as they were released. The trigger on the G3 is way better than the G2C for sure. That full grip makes a big difference and the mags fit the G2C which is a big plus!
Purchased a G3 because I really enjoyed the G2C. The G3 doesn't disappoint, smooth trigger, light weight modular design is ergonomically pleasing. Best 249 dollars I've spent. Great gun! What are you waiting for get one?!
