Ideal for plinking, the Mauser 1911-22 pistol is perfect for introduction into the rimfire world. This pistol is complete with double diamond wood grips and an adjustable skeletonized aluminum trigger. Each pistol ships with one 10-round magazine.
This firearm is illegal for sale in the states of Illinois and Minnesota due to "melting point" laws.
I bought this because I have a small collection of Mauser pistols, and even though it is a rebranded GSG, it is still a Mauser. Also, I do not have a 22 pistol other than target pistols. The only ammo I have tried was Winchester Super X copper plated hollow points, 36gr, 1280 fps. I fired perhaps 50 rounds sighting it in on a pistol target then perforating aluminum Pepsi cans, with very smooth, flawless function. Accuracy is great for informal recreational shooting. Trigger action is better than most pistols in the price range. Rear sight is screw adjustable for windage. Elevation is adjusted by changing the front sight. Five front sights of different height are included. Front sights are easily changed using the Allen wrench provided. Front sights are plastic and care must be taken not to over tighten the set screw. I am disappointed by the lack of an elevation screw adjustment. When I first received it, the action was sluggish. I field stripped it, cleaned the slide rails and frame rails, lubricated with Rem oil, and now the action is now quite smooth and snappy. Fit of the slide is very good. Field stripping is different from a 1911, involves removing a pin and a screw from the barrel, as well as the slide stop, before removing the tight-fitting barrel. The barrel is numbered with the frame, indicating that it is probably individually fitted and not interchangeable. Fit is tight in the frame where the barrel link would normally be on a 1911, with a slight taper fit. Tools for disassembly and adjustment are included, except a screwdriver to adjust rear sight for windage. Mine also came with one solid plastic orange dummy cartridge. I plan to move soon, to a state that has banned pistols with threaded barrels. I will need to modify it if I move. Few of us will ever fit a suppressor to a pistol like this, so my opinion is that a threaded barrel is not an asset for most shooters. Overall, I find the pistol to have very satisfactory fit and finish. I do not know what the finish is, but it is satin black and of pleasing appearance. It could be a powder coat. Specifications say the slide is aluminum and the frame is zinc, so a coating is the only way to make the finishes of the slide and frame match. Function, as I said, was flawless and the feel of the action while shooting gives me confidence in it. I have fired many thousands of rounds from various bullseye target pistols. Inexpensive high-speed hollow points are not a real test of accuracy. I would like to try some quality target ammo. It was certainly accurate enough to have fun shooting cans once it was sighted in. I like the pistol overall and it is about what I expected, except the sights. Overall dimensions are essentially identical to a 1911. The weight feels a lot like a 1911 45 auto. Slide motion is a little shorter and perhaps quicker than a 45, and recoil feels like many 22 autos. I gave it four stars because of the sights, but would have given 4.
I just got my pistol. I put 60 rounds through it today and it was perfect. Accurate from 20 yards, no problems. I'm very pleased with this pistol. Worth every penny! I can practice with this and save my 9mm!
This is a great shooting pistol. Looks super good and feels super good in the hand. It has some weight like a gun should. Take care of it, it will take care of you. Enjoy it !
Really fun to shoot. I mean, it's not a target pistol but has acceptable accuracy. An exact replica of the full size 1911. Low recoil and a good trigger. With the cost ammo you can shoot this and not worry about how much it is costing you.
This pistol shoots well right out of the box. I need to stick to 40gr bullet weight for flawless function. Excellent trigger! Love it!
Smooth shooting!! Performs flawlessly!! Should have got 2 more!
I love this gun. The feel of it. The way it operates the slide. You get the feel of a much bigger caliber. The only reason I didnt give its 5 on performance is it wont run certain off brand ammo. I have other 22s with the same problem.
This looks exactly like a GSG 1911 22Lr with Mauser grips. Im not complaining because I absolutely love shooting my GSG 1911 22Lr!!!! Excellent firearm!
Handles and feels like my Colt Mark II Series 80 Officers edition .45 caliber pistol! Amazing! I got 2 for use with classes I teach for Texas LTC/ people w/O ammo etc. All I need now is several extra clips!
The product handles and functions well! Like a well oiled machine! Excellent!
