The Walther PD380 delivers ideal concealed carry performance to both new and seasoned shooters alike. Weighing in at a mere 20.6 ounces (unloaded) and measuring in at just 1.24 inches wide, the PD380 is extremely easy to carry concealed in multiple carry positions with minimal printing. Chambering a round, clearing the weapon, and press-checking are made effortless thanks to an easy to rack slide. This, combined with the negligible recoil of the .380 ACP cartridge makes the PD380 an excellent choice for individuals with smaller or weaker hands. The overall design of the PD380 is very reminiscent of Walther’s renowned PDP. This is most evident in the Superterrain Serrations on the slide for enhanced slide manipulations even in adverse conditions or when wearing gloves. Another attribute borrowed from the PDP is the Performance Duty Texturing on the grips which offer an aggressive yet non-abrasive surface for excellent purchase and handling of the pistol.
The controls of the PD380 are equally impressive. The trigger features a double-action/single action pull, allowing the user to carry the weapon with the hammer down for an added level of safety while also being able to deliver quick accurate follow up shots. The ambidextrous safety also serves as a decocker to safety lower the hammer, and an ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release accommodates left and right handed shooters. Additionally, the PD380 features industry standard sights, allowing the user to tap into the vast aftermarket of iron sights.
