ATI's Cavalry hunting and sporting shotgun has a receiver made from lightweight, high-grade 7075 aluminum and features an intricate, laser-engraved design. It has an oil-finished Turkish Walnut stock and forend with blued 4140 chrome moly steel barrels with a brass bead front sight. These over/under shotguns have a single selective trigger, and includes five (5) interchangeable chokes. The Cavalry series weigh in at just over 6 lbs., and they are hand fit at the factory. This SVE model is a 410-gauge with 3" chamber, ejector, and 26" barrel. It has a 14.23" LOP, with a 1.45" drop at comb, and 2.2" drop at the heel.
Straight from the box, I cleaned all of the components just as I do with any new firearm. The checkering on both the forend and stock looked and felt well done. The laser engraving on the receiver complemented this shotgun. Following the instructions found in the manual, I assembled and prepared for testing with no real issues, except I found the choke tubes needed to be deburred on the outward end from machining. This is the only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5. I found the Cavalry SVE 410 Over/Under has good balance and shoots well. Overall, I’d give it a 5 for satisfaction.
