The Beretta 92 series of semiautomatic pistols operates on a short recoil, delayed blowback system, which yields; faster cycle times, exceptional accuracy and greater reliability. Double/Single action provides a very safe and timeproven design. High-capacity steel magazines are durable and drop-free when the magazine button is depressed, even when empty. Chrome-lined barrels provide extreme corrosion resistance, as well as ease of cleaning. Barrels also feature a deeply recessed combat muzzle crown to protect the rifling.
The Beretta 92FS, designated M9 by the U.S. Military, not only meets or exceeds all U.S. Military testing guidelines, it totally rewrites them. One of the most tested and trusted personal defense weapons in history.
I do love my 92fs. The fit and finish are superb. The steel frame just denotes quality. I gave it 4 stars for performance because it does malfunction at times when it’s the slightest bit dirty, as pointed out by another reviewer. And don’t worry about the one star review. I see that reviewer is from Chicago where they hate firearms so that person most likely doesn’t have much knowledge about weapons. Anyway, the 92fs is a great, solid weapon.
High Quality pistol. Fires and cycles so smoothly. This has become one of my favorite pistols....
This beautiful handgun is a classic, I do not agree with a trigger not functioning after 500 rounds, this baby is battle bred and corn fed for the military, maybe back in 1970 if that! This baretta is the go to and can be abused beyond belief. My grandfather told me stories of WW2 where they have been hit with rounds and still functioned without a hiccup. Every owner needs this in your collection!
I shot this gun several times. In 9mm or in .22. The .22 version is as accurate as a rifle. Beside the accuracy it always amazed me the smoothness of the action. One of the most accurate guns out there. I am also surprised of that one star rating, how someone can post that the trigger broke or whatever, does not work. If you are that dumb to break a trigger maybe you should learn more about manners with a gun.
Anyhow the repair should be covered in the three years warranty of the original owner if you had the smarts to register, man!... Or is just negative trash like that guy on youtube that proved that Beretta APX has bad serrations. This 92FS or the new Beretta APX are the most reliable pieces of equipment out there!
I've got a few pistols in the collection and this runs neck and neck with my CZ75 as a favorite. It racks smooth as butter, is extremely accurate and 100% reliable. I did perform two mods, though, one being the D hammer spring to reduce DA pull and the other was the all-steel trigger. The factory one was fine, so it was a just because upgrade. I am wondering if the guy that said his trigger broke attempted this upgrade and did not properly spring the new trigger return spring that part of the operation was a bit tricky. If you like classic pistols that are also a joy to shoot, this is a must-have!
This gun is what a handgun should be. It is solid. It is built tough. Yes, it is heavy. But the action is perfect and the recoil minimal. And, it is dead on accurate. The double / single action has a real unique feel that you can only appreciate when you fire the gun. If SHTF, this gun and a Ruger AR 556 FI will grab.
I'll start this with saying I do not own this firearm, however I did train and qualify with it back in the day and it is battle tested and solid through and though. Not sure what issue a certain person is having with it, but you can bet your life on a 92fs.
Nothing beats this piece at the range, super slick design eats every round and shoots perfectly straight. Id buy every 92fs i see in a heart beat, Super reliable. Watch youtube videos of this gun also shots underwater! Takes a death defying beating gets ran over dumped in mud and tossed around in sand and still eats all the ammo like nothing,! And with the made in italy engraving you know you have a gun that will protect you for life.
Concur with the other 5-star review... reviewing to help boost the overall score of this weapon, as I too think the 1-star guy is outright not telling you the whole truth. This manufacture has been around for almost 500 years and this platform being 35 years old is one of the most successful models on the PLANET... I’m pretty sure there’s a reason for that.
Gorgeous, reliable and well worth your money! Beware the naysayers. This piece is solid.
The Beretta 92 series handguns are the greatest SA/DA pistols on the planet. Ignore the one star review. Its practically impossible that someone actually broke the trigger. Chances are he tried to replace the perfectly serviceable trigger with a fancy 0.001 pound aftermarket trigger, and messed it up. That, or he just doesnt understand how SA/DA triggers work. Its not a glock. It doesnt need 500 dollars worth of modifications to make it a good gun. Its a great gun right out of the box. Its durable, reliable, pinpoint accurate, and sexy as hell.
The trigger is not durable and after around 500 shots in past 18 months, it is not functioning now.
