The Ruger® SR1911 is a classically styled pistol designed with all of the modern manufacturing advances that you have come to expect from Ruger. Accurate, rugged and reliable, the SR1911 is 100% American-made in American factories with American workers.
An original 1911 Series 70 design provides for easy takedown and re-assembly. Slim traditional design with hardwood grips and checkered backstrap. Precision CNC-controlled machining process results in a superior slide-to-frame fit and smooth slide travel. The stainless steel barrel and bushing are produced from the same bar stock, on the same machine, for improved accuracy.
Firearm Specifications
Positive barrel lock-up allows for a superior accuracy out-of-the-box. Oversized ejection port and extended magazine release enhance competition performance. The lightweight aluminum skeletonized trigger features an adjustable over-travel stop and provides a very crisp no creep light trigger pull with a quick positive reset. Skeletonized hammer is lightweight and provides faster cycling.
Dovetailed 3-dot sight system features a Novak® LoMount Carry rear and standard front sight that combines optimal target acquisition in an ideal carry configuration.

Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore will be my go to firearms supplier for a long time, super fast shipping, Prices are unbeatable, got my 1911 for $100 less than any local dealer, even including FFL transfer, gun is superb, smooth, great trigger, great experience all the way around.
This is my first 1911 but I did my home work and checked out many reviews and videos on the SR1911 Commander. I absolutely love this pistol, I took it to the range and fed it some budget ammo Magtech Shootin Size 230 grain and it ran flawlessly, I then fed it some Corbon .45 ACP+P, JHP 230 grain and again it ran flawlessly. I brought along to the range my wife and 15 year old son and they also both shot it and loved it. The recoil was very minimal with the Magtech FMJ but as expected with the Corbon +P there was a little bit but since the pistol has a decent weight it was not bad at all. The build quality is very good, the action feels good and it fits my hand like a glove. Very few of the newer guns do I really like everything about them but this is one. It's a pleasure to shoot and is very accurate out of the box. My lovely bride is not a gun enthusiast like myself but she raves over this pistol and has told many of her relatives and friends about it! If you're in the market for a 1911 this is great gun and Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore shipped it out quickly to my local FFL and it was a super transaction. Thank you. John.
