Featuring tritium night sights, 30-lines-per-inch front strap checkering, and an ambidextrous thumb safety, the Micro 9 CDP (Custom Defense Package) is easy to conceal and comfortable to carry, with a special Carry Melt treatment that rounds and blends edges so they will not snag on clothing or holsters.
Probably the most accurate 9mm concealed carry gun I have used at short range.. Fit and finish are excellent, with high quality parts and with outstanding accuracy. This gun requires a break in period as it has extremely tight tolerances. 124 gr is recommended for the first 300 plus rounds. Gets better as time goes on and is just a great carry gun. It is expensive , and their are equally good handguns out there that will do the job for less money. But it is American made, with all american parts and supported by a great customer service company. They are definitely worth consideration in your next carry gun. This gun conceals well, has a great purchase feel when shooting and is dead on tuned in if needed for self defense. Add the laser grips and you will have more options than most carry guns. Recoil is very manageable for this smaller size gun.
First off, this is a 1911 style pistol so if you don't like how it breaks down, don't buy a 1911. Now I will say, this gun does have a bit of a break-in period. Probably from 300-500 rounds. It's usually a failure to feed and I'm not 100% certain if it's the feed ramp that needs polishing or if its related to the magazines being new with a strong spring. Regardless, Kimber customer service says just keep putting rounds through it so that's what I am doing. I shoot Blazer Brass and since about 300 rounds, I have had no issues. Beautiful little pistol. Perfect for concealing. I recommend adding the Hogue pinky extension to the 7 round magazines. Makes the gun much more comfortable and controllable. I highly recommend this pistol!
Sharp looking gun and very concealable. I am not a fan of the way it breaks down or goes back together. In my opinion, for the money, there are better deals out there. Almost everything in this class of handgun shoots pretty accurately out of the box, so it's no surprise that this one does too. The Micro 9 came with one 6 round mag and a soft case. For the money, I was expecting at least a hard case, or a second magazine. No dice. Next time I'm going with an XD or an MP.
