This Lightweight 45acp is just a real winner from Ruger. I fondled one at my lgs, and couldn't resist the thing. It just feels so natural and great in hand. It made me immediately start trying to find the funds for one from my limited budget. I ended saving up for a couple of months and ordering it online at a much better price. All American made, great pistol all around! The only thing I found that felt out of place to me was the higher magazine release, but that's just my personal preference. The extended combat safety is perfect for my hand/thumb. Very positive operation with an audible and tactile click. It's lighter weight, feels good in hand with its fantastic ergonomics. The beavertail grip safety operates smoothly, and almost effortlessly for me, and with its speed bump should be easily operated by most shooters. the trigger on mine is very smooth and breaks cleanly at between 4.5-5 lbs. I found this very pleasing. Flat mainspring hug, another plus for me and with a perfect size. Checkering not to sharp or low and rounded to be offensive. Its looks are classically classy with no forward serrations; that I've never cared for. Good Novak 3 dot sites that I do like, and for me were right on at 20 yards. Not enough shooting it yet for me. Only 150 rounds of hardball reloads that went flawlessly, giving me great confidence with this 1911. I had only lightly cleaned it. Shot a little ballistol into it before heading to the range. Recoil is not overbearing, but manageable for me. I like 1911s, and shooting them. I have lighter 1911s that I enjoy shooting with no problems. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a reliable great American made pistol that's an excellent value overall ,IMHO. If you gathered that I'm heaping compliments on this pistol for a reason , you're right. I just love its combination of great features!
My first Ruger and I would highly reco this model. Shoots straight out of the box. No FTF or FTE. It works and shoots and is nice looking to boot. Sportsmens was great to deal with. Had a question before ordering and got a same day answer. Ordered the gun on Tuesday and got it Friday. No hitches or glitches. Will buy again from this company
