Good rifle that could easily have been better
Hammerli is a name with an outsize reputation. This straight-pull rifle has a lot to live up to but just falls short of the mark. There is a great deal that I do like about it. Nice weight and balance. Fit and finish all appear to be good. Good idea using the 10/22 magazine. The barrel attachment fitting works well.
One of the things that fall short is the lack of other available barrels to switch out. Without the option of buying other barrels, what is the point? A minor but irritating thing is the plug that must be fitted to the 10/22 mags to make them work is stiff plastic that is not easy to get on and off. So you better plan on making your Ruger mags permanent on this rifle.
The worst feature is the trigger. It is a hard 6 lb trigger with a sharp and irritating trigger safety built in. There is a cross-bolt safety on the rifle, so why the trigger safety? You can supposedly drop a Ruger BX trigger in. Why not just put it in the first place? The bolt in my rifle is also kind of stiff and didn’t want to close a few times on my first trip to the range.
The good news is that while my groups were in the 1–2 inch range on my first trip, I was stacking the shots on top of each other inside the bull on my second trip. I attribute this to the addition of a good bipod, a good cleaning and polishing, and oiling the trigger. Still too heavy, but better than day one. Hopefully it will continue to improve. The stiffness in the bolt pull was also getting better, and there were no hang-ups cycling rounds.
For the current price point, this is still a good rifle, and I was happy to add a straight-pull action to my collection. I really just wish they had put a better or adjustable trigger in this rifle from the beginning.

Best Ever 22 Magnum
This is my 3rd 22 magnum handgun. I've had the Taurus Tracker 9 shot revolver. Always fired each round as revolvers do. Then I purchased the Kel-Tec 22 mag. It was okay but required precise loading of the magazine to fire okay, but seemed to have too many failure-to-feed issues. NOW, the M&P 22 Magnum. As most others state, you may have a failure-to-feed in first two mags. In my shooting, I only had one failure-to-feed in second mag and then ran through another 5 mags without any issues. The M&P 22 Magnum is a hit with the new Tempo firing system. LOTS OF FUN. FIVE-STARS . RECOMMEND HIGHLY.

Just Do It!
I bought one of these for my wife and an Arex Delta 2 for myself sight unseen. The Mossberg is so much better than the Arex in every way. 100% perfect function and reliability with all sorts of left over 9mm ammo. Great trigger - no snappy recoil - very comfortable in the hand with nice non-abrasive texture. Nice trigger, too. Pretty sure I am going to buy another one for me!

Top notch
Wonderful little backup pistol that is a ball to shoot all afternoon for $10.00. Accurate and reliable with a great price point. Three magazines also refreshing to see these days where two is the norm and many mfrs are giving you one. I see someone is considering sending theirs in due to the safety lever getting loose after firing. Put a drop of the magic blue goo on it and keep on. Too good a gun to allow that to break up the relationship.

What should I know about buying guns online?
Unless you personally have a federal firearms license because you are a dealer or a gunsmith, the average person cannot order a gun and have it shipped to their house. It has to be shipped to an FFL dealer who can legally accept the shipment and check your license prior to handing over your gun.

Our guns for sale have to be sent to an FFL dealer. You can then pick up your order from the dealer. We recommend coordinating the delivery and pickup of your order with the dealer prior to ordering.

If an item is in stock, it will state "in stock" direcly on our product page. Our website uses a real-time inventory system, so if it says the gun is in stock and ready to ship, the it is!
